Medilâge Cheveux Homme is a preparation dedicated to men who struggle with excessive hair loss, as well as those who would like to accelerate hair growth, counteract hair ageing and hair brittleness. The formulation of the product, protected by a patent, is based on a combination of Keranat™, Phytopin® and silica.
PhytoPin® is obtained from the trunk of a pine tree growing in the Landes forest and its formulation is based on 99% of the purest plant sterols (phytosterols) on the market. It has the effect of inhibiting the activity of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone into its active form, i.e. dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT, in turn, leads to miniaturisation of hair follicles, resulting in atrophy and hair loss. The causes of excessive 5-alpha-reductase activity are not fully understood, but it is responsible for androgenetic alopecia, the most common type of alopecia in men. Furthermore, phytosterols help lower overall blood cholesterol levels and improve the HDL to LDL cholesterol ratio.
Keranat™ is a millet seed extract containing ingredients that counteract hair loss and stimulate hair growth, including linoleic acid, phospholipids, ceramides, glycosylceramides, DGDG (digalactosyldiglyceride) and miliacin (a triterpenoid present only in millet). The efficacy of this ingredient is based on acting directly on the papillae of the dermis layer, increasing cell division and stimulating the secretion of growth factors. Studies on Keranat™ have shown that it:
- increases hair bulb cell proliferation by approximately 140%, meaning that it reduces hair loss and accelerates hair growth,
- increases the volume of collagen in the connective tissue by 20.8%,
- facilitates the penetration and increases the effectiveness of the other active ingredients used.
In addition, the silica found in Medilâge Cheveux Homme, increases hair shine and density, eliminates damaged scalp cells and supports collagen production.
