We have a full range of treatment options, we offer full support and effectiveness of the methods used at every stage of the therapy. Treatment methods are selected during medical consultations, during which, throughout the duration of therapy, we constantly monitor the level of skin improvement. In the process of acne treatment, in addition to individually selected pharmacotherapy and skin care procedures, we have the opportunity to use a wide range of treatments to support the treatment process. The team of the Acne Treatment Clinic also teaches Patients how to take care of their acne skin and assists in the selection of appropriate skin care cosmetics at home, thus supporting the progress of treatment and maintaining its effects.
How to treat acne vulgaris?
Medical consultation
Acne vulgaris is a skin condition that has several different forms such as open and closed comedones, papules, pustules and the most severe cysts and tumors. Each of these forms should be treated by a dermatologist specialist. Self-extrusion of lesions and application of cosmetics does not help, and may even cause the formation of permanent scars and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Proper acne skin therapy is not only about getting rid of the visible symptoms, but also about the treatment, which will restore the proper functioning of the skin. It is worth reacting quickly, before the disease reaches an advanced stage and the treatment process is significantly prolonged.
Follow-up visits
The treatment of acne vulgaris is a process during which we monitor the progress and appropriately modify the applied treatment depending on the type of changes. We carefully observe how the skin reacts to the implemented methods. In order to restore the proper functioning of the skin, a few or even more than ten months are necessary. Only a complete therapy is a guarantee of effective treatment and not just masking the symptoms of the disease.
A Patient who decides to undergo treatment at the Acne Treatment Clinic has chosen the right path, but must be patient, and cannot give up after one visit to the physician’s office. The treatment can be modified several times, all for the best result. Follow-up visits are necessary even when we see significant improvement, only complete therapy protects against relapse. Visits to the Acne Treatment Clinic take place once a month on average. During the consultation Marcin Zakrzewski, MD, PhD asks questions which allow to determine how the skin reacted to the treatment applied and what influence on its condition had home care. We also select in-office treatments that perfectly complement the therapy such as medical peelings or medical microdermabrasion. An equally important element in the fight against acne vulgaris is home care. The experience of our team will allow to select effective components and precisely choose their concentration for optimal effects.
Juvenile acne treatment – maintenance therapy
Acne symptoms have disappeared, but this is not the end of the fight for healthy and beautiful skin. Our goal now is to maintain the achieved balance, preventing excessive oiliness and keratosis of the epidermis. Just visit the Acne Treatment Clinic once every few weeks to enjoy smooth, radiant skin. We will help you choose the right home care and prescribe a series of medical peelings to support the therapy effects.
Crisis in therapy, is it possible?
Acne treatment has its breakthrough moments. During the treatment, the complexion clears up, and the therapeutic process is planned in such a way that the entire period of normalization of the skin’s functioning goes as smoothly as possible. Each of the situations described can be potentially discouraging, but beware – firstly, it is absolutely normal, and secondly, it is temporary. The team at the Acne Treatment Clinic has a wide range of tools to provide effective and safe treatment in the shortest possible time.
Deterioration – rashes
Despite the treatment you have started, your skin condition worsens and your acne exacerbates? This is the process of clearing the skin of blackheads, purulent changes and inflammation. With the help of our specialists, properly selected treatments and home care we will shorten this time to an absolute minimum.
Acne and dry skin
Dryness and irritation of the skin is one of the transitional stages in an intensive anti-acne treatment. Temporary dryness or redness of the skin are ailments which can be dealt with by choosing appropriate moisturizing care adapted to the needs of acne skin.
Juvenile acne treatment – 10 commandments:
- Always use the recommended dose of medication – overdoing it is not advisable, a thicker layer of ointment will not work faster, it can only irritate the skin.
- Don’t stop treatment even if you see significant improvement – treatment is about improving skin function, not fighting the symptoms of the disease.
- Don’t squeeze – removing blemishes yourself can lead to inflammation and the formation of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- Don't overdo it with the sun – protect your skin with the right sunscreen
- Do not forget about moisturizing – acne skin during dermatological treatment must be regularly moisturized with properly selected cosmetics
- Don’t give up – temporary deterioration of the skin condition signals that the cleansing and healing process has just begun.
- Opt for gentle but effective cleansing – a well-chosen facial cleanser used twice a day is the foundation of your daily skincare routine.
- Don’t irritate – avoid gritty scrubs and face brushing, which can carry bacteria elsewhere and exacerbate acne symptoms.
- Monitor treatment progress – don’t neglect follow-up visits to keep up with treatment progress
- Forget the miracle methods found on the Internet – acne skin treatment is a process, you are under professional care, patience.
Scars – we prevent the formation and treat the remains after acne vulgaris. Early reaction and treatment allows us to prevent the formation of acne scars.
The Acne Treatment Clinic is also a place for Patients who are looking for effective and safe ways to fight the remnants of acne. Our knowledge and experience combined with a comprehensive offer and modern equipment allow us to effectively treat scars and prevent their formation.
Laser therapy for scars
Thanks to innovative laser therapy we can effectively and safely get rid of scars and stretch marks. A series of treatments at 4-week intervals is a guarantee of reduction and brightening:
- Scars: acne, post-traumatic, post-accident, burn and surgical scars, including caesarean sections
- Conspicuous pores
- Stretch marks: on the abdomen, buttocks, hips, arms, calves and other body parts
Laser therapy stimulates the skin to deep remodeling, thus scars and stretch marks become shallower and the skin smoother, tighter and more elastic. As a result of regeneration, new, full-fledged tissue is produced at the site of the scar
We use two great devices for laser therapy of scars and stretch marks:
- DISCOVERY PICO PLUS laser
- ALMA PIXEL CO2 laser
Laser therapy treatments require a series of repetitions, their number depends on the age of the scar. The use of modern equipment in laser therapy is a guarantee of effectiveness and safety of the treatment with maximum reduction of the period of convalescence. The first effects are visible after about 2-3 weeks, then it is recommended to repeat the treatment in order to intensify skin remodeling processes.
Contraindications:
- Herpes
- Pregnancy
- Epilepsy
- Photodermatoses
- Taking retinoids
- Taking medications and herbs that sensitize the skin to light (calendula, Hypericum – stop taking them 2-3 weeks before the procedure)
We also use in the treatment of acne scars:
- Platelet rich plasma mesotherapy ARTHREX ACP
- Mesotherapy with active substances that support correct regeneration
- Chemical peelings
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
In order to avoid the formation of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation at the site of pimples, it is important to remember to use properly selected protective creams (with UV filters). With the help of specialized treatments we are also able to remove existing acne spots.
In the treatment and prevention of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation we use:
- Chemical peelings
- Dermamelan
- Picosecond laser DISCOVERY PICO PLUS
Supportive Treatments:
- Alma Pixel CO2 laser peeling
- Diamond microdermabrasion PRISTINE
