Course of treatment

Anti-aging and aesthetic medicine treatments

Duration of treatment with Alma Pixel CO2 laser for aesthetic and anti-aging medicine is 15-60 minutes depending on the skin surface or the lesion to be treated. The treatment causes only a feeling of slight discomfort, for this reason before the procedure a local anesthetic in the form of a special anesthetic cream may be applied. In the next stage the Patient’s skin is cleaned and disinfected. The intensity of treatment is adjusted to the problem or nature of the skin changes. With a wide range of laser tips and treatment modes we are able to offer Patients a variety of treatment options. The physician adjusts appropriate parameters and then applies the device head emitting the laser beam to the Patient’s skin. During the treatment the Patient’s skin is cooled with cold air, which significantly reduces unpleasant sensations. Immediately after the treatment, a healing cream is applied to the treated area.

The number of treatments needed to achieve satisfactory results depends on the severity of the Patient’s skin changes. In the case of Patients struggling with deep wrinkles, scars or stretch marks, several treatments may be necessary.

Mechanism of laser action

Alma Pixel CO 2 laser in anti-aging treatments is based on the creation of microscopic defects in the skin with its rays, which allows for shrinkage of existing collagen fibres and production of new collagen. In addition, as a result of created microcracks the natural process of self-regeneration is initiated. This stimulates the skin to rebuild, and as a consequence leads to its firming, density improvement, wrinkle smoothing and visible evenness of its tone.
The damage in the skin occurs when the laser radiation penetrates the tissue and is then absorbed by the water in the cells. This ablation process heats up the water in the cells and then vaporizes it. Along with the evaporation of water, the tissue in which the water was located also evaporates.
Thanks to the innovative laser technology the physician can adjust the level and depth of ablation to the problem the Patient is facing. The resulting microscopic damage does not affect the surrounding tissue – only in the areas of microdamage does the skin begin to heal. The use of fractional laser reduces the risk of side effects in the form of discoloration, scarring, excessive post-infection pigmentation, infection or persistent erythema.

Laser surgery procedures for the treatment of benign skin lesions

In our Clinic benign skin lesions and some malignant ones are successfully treated with Alma Pixel CO2 ablative laser. A great advantage of laser therapy over other solutions is the fact that it is fast, precise, non-invasive and safe. What is important, the period of convalescence is minimized practically to zero. The treatment is performed by an experienced dermatologist or surgeon.

The duration of the laser dermatosurgery procedure is about 15-30 minutes depending on the lesion to be treated and may cause slight discomfort – burning or pinching. For this reason, depending on the Patient’s pain threshold, local anesthesia may or may not be used before the procedure. In the next stage the Patient’s skin is cleaned and disinfected. The procedure does not take long. The physician directs the laser beam to the treated area and the affected tissues evaporate in a bloodless manner. High temperature and no contact of the head with the Patient’s skin guarantee the treatment sterility. Thanks to gradual evaporation of the lesion and the possibility to control the process, the whole treatment is extremely precise. The laser uses one of the most technically advanced scanners on the market, which allows full control of laser working time, area under treatment and power intensity, optimizing the effectiveness of therapy, maximizing safety and giving full control over the result. At the site of lesion removal under the influence of temperature blood vessels are closed, and the treated skin is covered with scab. Healing takes place through granulation. The wound is gradually covered with new cells, thus minimizing the risk of scar formation, which is impossible if a scalpel is used. The surrounding healthy skin remains intact. Immediately after the treatment at the site of lesion removal may appear wounds, and the skin may be sensitized, irritated or slightly reddened. After the treatment, a healing cream is applied to the treated area to speed up healing. If required, your physician will apply a dressing.

Technology

The operation of fractional laser Pixel CO2 with a wavelength of 10600 nm is based on innovative technology developed by Alma Lasers, which is a leading representative of companies producing laser devices.

  • In-depth action
Dedicated combination of laser modules and acoustic vibrations which "transport" the active ingredients into the deep layers of the skin, where the processes of skin remodelling take place, thanks to which the treatment provides great results in regeneration treatments
  • Evenly distributed energy

Revolving roller, which concentrates energy power on selected areas of the skin, evenly provides a beam of 7 pixels to each millimeter of skin surface undergoing regenerative treatment, allowing for deeper penetration and potentiating the laser’s effect.

  • Incision without bleeding or sutures

Modern solutions such as cutting and coagulation in a single step allow the laser to be used very precisely in laser surgery procedures performed on those areas of the skin that require delicate treatment, which directly translates into high treatment efficiency while minimizing healing and recovery time.

  • Control and safety

The most technically advanced scanner on the market allows full control of laser hold time, treatment area and power intensity, optimizing treatment effectiveness, increasing treatment safety and giving full control of the outcome.

  • Versatility

A wide range of laser tips and programs allows for individual selection of treatment intensity to the Patient’s skin problems.

Effects

Anti-aging treatments

Performing a procedure in the field of regenerative and anti-aging medicine with Alma Pixel CO2 laser provides an immediate effect of improving skin tone. Even a single treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines, even for a few months. The number of treatments needed to achieve full results is dependent on the Patient’s skin changes, in some cases a series of 3-4 treatments will be needed. Treatments can be performed at intervals of 4-5 weeks.

After the procedure, the Patient’s skin is red and there is swelling. A few days later, the epidermis peelings off and the first visible effects appear. The final results are visible after 3-6 months, a period during which there will be further stimulation of collagen and skin remodeling. Effects after the use of fractional CO2 laser in regenerative treatments are visible for several months. Over time, the effects become less visible due to the daily impact of external factors and the progressive aging of the skin. Then you can decide to repeat the treatment in order to maintain the effect.

The skin after the treatment becomes smoothed and firmed, which makes it fresh and visibly "rejuvenated.” Scars become shallow and less visible and wrinkles are smoothed out.

Laser surgery procedures

In the treatment of skin lesion removal with the ablative laser Alma Pixel CO2, the effect is immediate because the lesion is removed during one treatment. After healing, there is no scar at the treatment site and the skin remains smooth, which cannot be avoided if the Patient decides on the classic surgical procedure with a scalpel.

Recovery

The recovery process after anti-aging CO2 fractional laser treatment takes about a week. This process is relatively fast due to the fact that the tissue occurring between microdamages remains intact. Immediately after the procedure, the Patient’s skin may experience spot bleeding, swelling or erythema. Afterwards, small scabs may appear on the skin, which take up to a week to peel off. After the procedure it is recommended to use an appropriate protective preparation that will accelerate skin regeneration. The full wound healing process after the procedure takes up to 2 weeks.

The recovery process after the procedure with Alma Pixel CO2 laser for dermatosurgery depends on the size and nature of the lesion to be removed, but is usually very short. The wounds quickly turn into a scab, which falls off after a few days.

Indications after treatment

  • Do not wear makeup for 24 hours after a regenerative medicine procedure
  • Do not apply healing creams until scabs have peeled off
  • Do not scrape or pick off scabs
  • It is advisable to use a special protective preparation that is designed to accelerate healing of the skin
  • Avoid activities that may overheat the skin such as physical activity, swimming pool and sauna for 7-14 days after treatment
  • Avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks after treatment
  • Use SPF 50 photoprotection for one month after the treatment after the healing of the treated area
  • Avoid factors that could potentially affect the appearance of an infection

Contraindications

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • fresh tan in case of aesthetic indications
  • certain chronic diseases
  • taking anticoagulants
  • implanted pacemaker
  • active skin infections in the area to be treated
  • vitiligo
