HArmonyCa

HArmonyCa, a hybrid tissue biostimulator, is an innovative solution for injectable treatments with a rejuvenating effect, due to the combination of two valuable substances: hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite in a ratio of 70% : 30%, unavailable in any other product.

This unique combination makes HArmonyCa treatment one of a kind. It is a unique hybrid tissue biostimulator containing calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres suspended in cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Thanks to the high content of calcium hydroxyapatite (as much as 30%), the preparation counteracts the effects of skin ageing, i.e. flaccidity and loss of elasticity through long-term stimulation of fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin. On the other hand, the presence of cross-linked hyaluronic acid allows for the reconstruction of tissue defects occurring with age and a natural lifting of the facial oval. 

Technology

HArmonyCa prevents facial ageing on several levels:

• As we age, the activity of fibroblasts responsible for the production of type I collagen and elastin decreases. Collagen is a protein that is part of the so-called skin bio-structure through which the skin maintains its firmness, and elastin provides the skin with resistance to sagging and stretching. The calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres in HArmonyCa act deep in the dermis to create a scaffolding that promotes the intrinsic growth of fibroblasts, which has a positive impact on their activity. The production of collagen, elastin and other components of the cellular matrix increases, so the skin gradually rebuilds its structure and becomes firmer, denser and better toned, and wrinkles and furrows become less visible.
• Over the years, changes in tissue structures occur. In the face, tissue loss can be seen in fat, bone and connective tissue structures, what causes changes in facial proportions and a drooping oval: "The 'youthful' triangle with the apex pointing downwards begins to change into a pyramid, the base of which is defined by the lower part of the face. The content of cross-linked hyaluronic acid in HArmonyCa allows for the reduction of tissue defects in the treatment area, making it possible to gently sculpt the facial oval by filling in defects and naturally lifting the tissues. This results in more youthful facial proportions and a more relaxed and rested face.
• Facial ageing is influenced by changes in the supporting ligaments and septa, which lose tension and become flaccid. These changes cause the facial oval to gradually begin to droop and the face to appear sad and tired. With the action of HArmonyCa, the ligaments and supporting structures can be strengthened and increased in tension, resulting in a reduction of the signs of ageing in the face.
• The level of hyaluronic acid, which is produced naturally by the human body, begins to decrease over time. The effect of its loss in the skin is a drooping of the facial oval, loss of skin hydration and density, and deepening of wrinkles and furrows. The effect of HArmonyCa treatment is to replenish the loss of hyaluronic acid, which results in better skin hydration, improved skin tone, increased luminosity of the complexion and reduced visibility of wrinkles.

Safety of the treatment

Calcium hydroxyapatite and hyaluronic acid are naturally occurring substances in the human body. Calcium hydroxyapatite is a natural mineral that is the majority building block of the structure of human bones, and hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in tissues, including the skin. They are fully biodegradable, biocompatible and well tolerated. They produce no or minimal inflammatory response. Thanks to the natural active ingredients, the HArmonyCa treatment carries a low risk of side effects, as the active ingredients included are very well tolerated by the body.

Indications for treatment

Treatment with HArmonyCa is recommended for those who have noticed signs of skin ageing, particularly those associated with loss of skin firmness and density, resulting in an overall deterioration of skin quality or condition. Key indications for the treatment include:

• loss of skin tone and flabbiness,
• loss of skin firmness and elasticity,
• sagging facial oval with drooping cheeks,
• dry skin.

Course of treatment

Before each treatment, a thorough interview is carried out, determining the needs and defining the patient's problems, as well as ruling out any contraindications. Before starting the treatment, the doctor delineates the anatomical points of the face where the HArmonyCa preparation will be administered, so that the effect is in accordance with the assumptions and principles of optimal harmony of facial features. In the next stage, the skin is cleaned and disinfected. The doctor administers the product under the skin using a cannula, making 2-3 punctures in the treatment area. The procedure takes approximately 30-40 minutes and the lidocaine content of the product reduces discomfort.

Effects of the treatment

The unquestionable advantage of the HArmonyCa procedure is that it provides both immediately visible effects and long-term results. Directly after the procedure, the effect of a discreet, natural lifting of facial tissues is noticeable. After approximately three months, the results begin to include an improvement in quality by increasing skin firmness and density by stimulating fibroblasts to produce elastin and collagen.

Importantly, the effects of treatment with HArmonyCa last up to 18 months - during this time the product, which is 100 per cent biodegradable, is naturally absorbed by the body. To maintain the effects, it is recommended to repeat the treatment every 12-18 months or so.

Pre-treatment recommendations

A few weeks prior to treatment with HArmonyCa, it is recommended to stop taking blood-thinning medication. This is to avoid possible bruising at the injection sites. Alcohol should not be consumed on the day of the procedure.

Post-treatment recommendations

The patient should avoid:

• avoid intense physical exercise for a minimum of 24 hours after the procedure.
• avoid exposure to sunlight and solarium for a minimum of 24 hours after the treatment.
• refrain from using saunas and exposure to high temperatures for a minimum of 24 hours after the treatment to avoid redness and swelling.
• refrain from applying make-up for at least 12 hours after the treatment.
• refrain from performing selected aesthetic medicine therapies in the treatment area for at least one month after the treatment. 

Recuperation

After treatment with HArmonyCa, the patient does not require convalescence and can return to daily activities immediately. Redness and slight bruising at the injection site is natural and subsides spontaneously within a few days.

Contraindications

Although the HArmonyCa procedure is recommended for a wide range of patients, there are some contraindications to the procedure. These include:

• pregnancy and breastfeeding
• infections or inflammations in the treatment area
• hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the preparation components
• active cancer
• taking anti-inflammatory medication
• autoimmune diseases
• previous procedures with the use of polylactic acid (present e.g. in the preparation Sculptra).
