Lanluma - L-polylactic acid
Lanluma is an collagen stimulating injectable whose main ingredient is L-polylactic acid - a substance known for its strong biostimulatory properties.
Injectables based on L-polylactic acid are aimed at stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen fibers of the skin and for this reason they are often used in treatments dedicated to improving the condition of the skin of the body, including the neck, décolleté, arms, hands, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Their use has a positive effect not only on improving the density, tone and firmness of the skin, but also allows for subtle body shaping.
An additional advantage of using L-polylactic acid is that it occurs naturally in the human body, which translates into its biocompatibility and high level of safety.
How does it work?
Collagen is an important protein that provides a natural "scaffolding" for the skin, providing density, volume, tone, elasticity and firmness. With the passage of time and as the skin ages, fibroblasts produce less and less collagen, which has a declining skin condition. L-polylactic acid stimulates fibroblasts to synthesize collagen fibres - both to slow down the skin aging process and reduce the appearance of its effects, and to gently add volume to tissues in selected areas. Thanks to its properties, it is used for firming treatments, treating cellulite, increasing skin density and elasticity.
Properties of L-polylactic acid:
- high degree of safety. The substance is well accepted by the body's tissues and naturally excreted by them after a certain period of time
- naturalness resulting from the fact that L-polylactic acid occurs in the human body
- versatility, which allows the therapy to be carried out on many areas of the body
- the longevity of the effects, which last up to 2 years
Indications for the treatment:
- The ability of L-polylactic acid to stimulate fibroblasts to increase collagen production in the skin can be used to:
- Improving the density, firmness and elasticity of the skin that have been lost due to, for example, aging processes
- Giving the desired shape, modeling and increasing the volume of the treated body area
L-polylactic acid treatments are dedicated to all Patients, regardless of gender, who seek to improve the following aspects of appearance:
- increase the tone of skin on the neck and décolleté affected by aging processes
- improve skin tone and elasticity on the body, including the arms, abdomen, buttocks, thighs and above the knees
- reduce the visibility of cellulite
- visually rejuvenate the skin of the backs of the hands
Course of the treatment with L-polylactic acid
Treatment with L-polylactic acid is preceded by a medical interview, during which contraindications to the procedure are ruled out and the treatment plan is discussed. The skin in the treated area is cleaned and disinfected, after which the injection sites are anesthetized. To make the procedure more comfortable, an anesthetic (lignocaine) is added to the preparation itself. The preparation with L-polylactic acid is administered with the help of a cannula to precisely designated points so that it gets into the subcutaneous tissue of the treated area. The duration of the procedure depends on the area, but is usually about an hour, and thanks to the anesthesia used, does not cause much discomfort.
The number of treatments is adjusted individually to the needs of the Patient, and usually 2-3 procedures are performed at an interval of 2-3 months.
Effects of treatment with Lanluma
The results of L-polylactic acid treatment appear gradually. The first effects are visible after each treatment in a series, and the target effects of the treatment can be seen in 2-3 months as new natural collagen fibres are produced. The effects from Lanluma treatment last up to 2 years.
Patients can expect results within the following areas:
- improving the firmness, tone, elasticity and density of the neck and décolletage skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- improvement of skin firmness, texture and tone on the arms, abdomen, buttocks, thighs and above the knees
- reducing the visibility of cellulite
- increasing firmness and gently adding volume to the skin of the backs of the hands
The results of the treatments may vary from one Patient to another, as they depend on a number of factors, including the initial condition of the skin, the Patient's individual conditions and adherence to post-treatment recommendations.
Recommendations before the procedure
One week before the procedure, it is recommended to refrain from taking medications that reduce blood clotting (e.g. acetylsalicylic acid), if taking them is not necessary. This is to reduce the risk of possible bruising at the injection sites. Alcohol should not be consumed on the day of the procedure.
Post-treatment recommendations
Adherence to post-surgery recommendations is aimed at minimizing the risk of side effects and maximizing the effects of the treatments.
Key recommendations include:

- For 14 days after the procedure, you should not sunbathe, either in the sun or in a tanning bed.
