Arthrex ACP Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy is one of the most natural, safe and effective methods used in aesthetic medicine – the plasma is taken directly from the Patient’s blood and then injected through mesotherapy into the desired area of the skin. Course of treatment
As before every treatment in our Clinic, at the beginning of the visit the physician conducts a thorough interview, during which discusses with the Patient expectations and needs. The area of skin to be treated is thoroughly disinfected. Then an ointment or anesthetic cream is applied.
The procedure is performed using the needle mesotherapy technique and begins by collecting approximately 15 ml of blood directly into the Arthrex double syringe. Then, the plasma is separated mechanically by centrifuge, without the use of synthetic gels, so that the process remains completely natural. This step takes about 5 minutes. The resulting concentrate is transferred to an internal syringe and the material is ready for injection. The procedure takes no longer than 30 minutes and is virtually painless and safe, with the physician injecting a specific area of the skin with platelet-rich plasma.

Indications before treatment
A few days before the procedure the Patient should not take blood-thinning drugs (e.g. Aspirin, Ibuprofen) and anti-inflammatory drugs. On the day of treatment it is recommended to drink at least 2 liters of water.
Indications after treatment
There are certain recommendations that should be followed to make the treatment as effective as possible and the results long lasting. The Patient should avoid:
- massaging the treated areas
- intense physical exertion for several days
- use sauna and swimming pool for 5-7 days after the treatment
Recovery
Treatment with Arthrex ACP platelet rich plasma does not require any recovery period and the Patient can return to daily activities immediately after the procedure. After the procedure a slight redness or a feeling of "spreading" of the skin from the inside may occur – these symptoms are completely natural and disappear after a few hours. Mild bruising and possible hematomas disappear a few days after the procedure.
Contraindications
Although Arthrex ACP platelet-rich plasma treatment is recommended for a wide range of Patients and has a high degree of safety, there are some contraindications that prevent it from being performed, such as:
